BJ's Joins Hav A Sol For March Madness Kids' Shoe Charity Drive

Customers who donate to the charity will receive a coupon for a free Pizookie to redeem on their next visit.

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is celebrating this year’s college basketball season with a collaboration with Hav A Sole, a nonprofit that works to “provide marginalized populations with quality footwear,” according to the announcement.

Beginning this Friday, Mar. 15, the partnership kicks off with BJ’s sponsorship of Hav a Sole's annual Dream Out Loud benefit in Downtown Los Angeles, donating funds to provide hundreds of pairs of shoes to children across the country.

Nationally, the chain is inviting guests dining in-store from Mar. 15 through April 8 to donate $1 or more to Hav a Sol on their check. In return the customer will receive a coupon for a free Pizookie to redeem on their next visit.

"BJ's is joining Hav A Sole in its commitment to bring positive change to those who need it most," said Heidi Rogers, senior vice president of marketing at BJ's Restaurants, Inc, in the release. "Shoes are not a luxury. They are a necessity. We are proud to partner with an organization that shares our vision for making moments matter not only for our guests but also for our community, because we believe that the real magic happens when we all join together."

The partnership will expand after Los Angeles to include kids’ shoe donation pop-up events in cities across the U.S. The next pop-up will take place in the Bay Area, followed by Dallas and Indianapolis. The Final Four cities will be announced on BJ's Instagram after the end of the tournament.
