Tech company Bending Spoons has acquired Issuu, a digital publishing platform.
The terms were not disclosed.
Issuu has “more than one million creators and marketers using the platform annually and 100 million unique users per month consuming Issuu-processed content,” says Joe Hyrkin, CEO of Issuu.
The company was founded in 2006 in Denmark and is now based in Palo Alto, California.
Bending Spoons offers such digital technology tools as Evernote, Meetup, Remini, StreamYard, and Splice. By leveraging its expertise and platform technologies, it believes it can ”help Issuu progress further,” says Luca Ferrari, CEO of Bending Spoons.
Funded by Heartcore Ventures and KDDI Open Innovation Fund, Issuu was assisted by financial advisor Lightning Partners and on legal matters by Goodwin Procter.
Bending Spoons was helped by Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP as lead US and Germany legal counsel. It also was assisted by Kromann Reumert in Denmark, and by Pérez-Llorca in Portugal. EY Advisory SpA also assisted with financial and tax due diligence.
