The Onion, the satirical publication based in Chicago, will return to print this week for the first time in 10 years and will distribute copies at the Democratic National Convention. No joke.
Online subscribers who pay $5 a month will now also receive the monthly print edition, along with other perks, according to The New York
Times, which itself was recently sent up by The Onion with the headline “New York Times To Cease Publication.”
Last month, The Onion stopped running digital ads from Taboola, according to the Times.
The Onion is owned by Global Tetrahedron, whose owner Jeff Lawson is a co-founder of the tech company Twilio. Former MSNBC reporter Ben Collins is The Onion’s CEO.
