'Law360' Workers Strike, Saying Contract Talks Have Hit Barriers

As threatened last month, union editorial workers have scheduled an open-ended strike at the LexisNexis-owned digital news service Law360. It was to start just after midnight on Tuesday.

The company has not agreed to union demands for raises based on inflation, for an alternative health insurance plan and to remedy the layoff of 26 union workers in March, according to NewsGuild of New York, which represents Law360 Union.

On Tuesday, union members were to start picketing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m EST and planned to hold a rally at 1 p.m. outside Law360/LexisNexis headquarters in New York City.

The Law360 Union issued a vote of no confidence in Teresa Harmon, vice president at LexisNexis, earlier this year.

In addition, the union filed charges with the National Labor Relations Board, accusing the firm of making unilateral changes to healthcare plans and mid-contract layoffs.

Negotiations started in November 2022, and the union’s contract expired in December.
