Journalists worldwide can educate themselves on generative AI thanks to the launch of the AI Journalism Lab: Leadership and the AI Journalism Lab: Adoption by the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, with support from Microsoft. 

The hybrid labs are tuition-free. They are three months long, and require an in-person session in New York, then online classes and the completion of a Capstone project, which will be guided by coaches.

Applicants must submit an idea addressing an AI challenge and thoughtful answers on why they want to participate.  

The Leadership lab runs from January to April 2025. 

The adoption lab runs from April to July 2025. 

The application deadline is October 18.
