The Guardian moved into the top slot among UK websites in August. Its audience totaled 21.8 million people, representing 1% growth YoY. But it had fallen by 1% since July, according to
Press Gazette.
The only top-10 news site that grew in August was Yahoo, which leaped by 4% to 17 million MoM, the Press Gazette continues.
The top 10 sites in terms of MoM growth were:
- Yahoo: +4.3%
- The Guardian: -1.3%
- Metro:
-2.7%
- BBC: -4.3%
- The Independent: -4.6%
- Mail Online: -5.2%
- Mirror:
-9.5%
- Sky News: -9.8%
- The Telegraph: -10.2%
- The Sun: -10.4%
The top 25 sites also include Forbes and The New York Times, according to Press Gazette.
