19 Crimes Wine Launches Second Collab With Universal Monsters

19 Crimes has the perfect pairing for scary Halloween movie nights this October.

This week the Napa, California-based 19 Crimes Winery, in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, released a new collection of limited-edition Halloween-themed wines.

In the second year of the partnership, the brands have brought back the “fan-favorite” Frankenstein Cabernet Sauvignon, now adding his better half, The Bride of Frankenstein Red Blend.

Besides glowing in the dark, the bottles themselves now also hold an added spooky surprise: Each contains a QR code on the label that, when scanned, leads customers  into an augmented reality experience bringing "Universal's iconic monsters to life,” per the brand.

The "Universal Monsters" include all the classic monsters from Universal Studios films released between 1913–1956 -- which of course includes Frankenstein.

"The Bride of Frankenstein joins Frankenstein in our lineup, and together they embody the same rebellious spirit as 19 Crimes -- challenging conventions and breaking the rules,” said Sarah Bakx, president of BOLD Brands at Treasury Americas, parent of 19 Crimes, in a release. “This collaboration continues to push the boundaries of traditional wine culture by bringing these iconic characters to life in a fresh and captivating way."

The brand is promoting the collectible bottles via its Instagram and X social platforms as well as with online media. Both bottles are only available for a limited time at 19Crimes.com and select retailers nationwide.

The Australian wine maker is named after the  infamous number of crimes that a Briton committed to be to be sentenced to live in Australia in the late 1700s. Many of the “crimes” were reported to be due to political rebellion, and the 160,000 exiled men and women “forged a new culture and national spirit in Australia.” The brand features convicts unjustly convicted and sentenced on its labels. 19 Crimes is also behind the Snoop Dogg line of wines.

As the waiter in "National Lampoon's European Vacation" said to the Griswolds while they were in France and tried to order wine, "(spoken in French) I'll bring you dishwater. You won't know the difference."
