Bravo Series Joins iTunes Crowd

NBC Universal's Bravo on Wednesday joined the flock of networks now selling shows a la carte on Apple's iTunes music store. Bravo's popular reality series "Project Runway" will be added at the end of the month, along with selected episodes of the James Lipton-hosted "Inside the Actor's Studio"--including an interview with comedian Dave Chappelle.

Continuing to build on its relationship with Apple, NBC earlier this week began giving away downloads of the new Dick Wolf legal drama "Conviction" over iTunes. The network will start selling other episodes for $1.99 once the show begins its run next week. The pilot episode is free through March 3.

In addition, NBC will tag a portion of its show promos with an on-screen graphic promoting the free preview. The show will likewise be promoted online on iTunes, and across NBC Universal Web properties.

Earlier this year, the Bravo Network announced plans to launch a suite of ad-supported broadband sites throughout the coming year, building on the network's main hub online, BravoTV.com. Many of the sites are designed to support existing Bravo properties like "Project Runway," as well as pop-culture blogs, viewer-submitted content, and exclusive video. BrilliantButCancelled.com, a site spun from the Trio series of the same name, is expected to launch later in the year.

TrioTV.com--NBC Universal's arts and pop culture channel, which recently lost its cable presence--already relies on BravoTV.com for Web traffic.

Other Bravo properties that can claim a presence online this year include the network's new hour-long reality series titled "Work Out," which chronicles the life of gym owner Jackie Warner; the fourth season of the hair-salon reality show "Blow Out"; the second season of "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List"; and an hour-long reality cooking competition, "Top Chef."
