The San Francisco Chronicle is partnering with its fellow Hearst unit, KCRA-TV in Sacramento, to embed a video team in the Chronicle newsroom.
Three multimedia journalists will produce video content for broadcast on KCRA and Hearst-owned KSBW in Monterey Bay, and for digital platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and SFChronicle.com.
The team includes digital producer Joy Jeong and multimedia journalists Ryan Curry and Sarah McGrew, the Chronicle writes.
They plan to cover stories relevant to San Francisco and Northern California audiences, from breaking news to in-depth packages. They will also collaborate with Chronicle reporters on stories.
“For years, I have been hoping to partner with the Hearst television group on a digital video project, and I am delighted to see this team come to fruition,” says Emilio Garcia-Ruiz, editor in chief of the Chronicle. “This allows us to bring together the firepower of numerous powerful newsrooms.”
