Musician Doja Cat is back in Taco Bell’s teaser spot for the Super Bowl. And the Grammy award-winning rapper, who is known for her love of the chain’s classic Mexican Pizza, is not happy.
Taco Bell's big game ad, as previously reported, will feature user-generated content filmed at various Taco Bell locations across the country. In the :30 teaser, a happy couple is driving under a Live Más Drive-Thru Cam, taking pictures. Suddenly they notice they are not alone in their shots. Doja Cat herself has photobombed their pics.
A drive-thru employee yells at Doja that she cannot be in the new Super Bowl spot -- it’s for fans, not celebrities. A humorous verbal fight ensues between the two as Doja continually attempts to sneak into the photos. The hapless couple in their car eats their Taco Bell paying rapt attention to the conflict.

“Fans really showed up and showed out at our Live Más Drive-Thru Cams—from bringing their friends and entire family, to renewing vows and sharing ultrasound photos, they demonstrated what it means to live más going through the Taco Bell drive-thru — and we can’t wait to give them the spotlight at one of the biggest commercial stages ofthe year,” said Taylor Montgomery, CMO at Taco Bell in a release. “Doja Cat’s…passion for the brand is undeniable—but this year is about celebrating the everyday fans. While there’s a slight possibility for Doja and other friends of the brand to make an appearance, the true spotlight belongs to the fans who make Taco Bell, Taco Bell.”
The Super Bowl spot will feature pics taken from the more than 3,000 shot by Taco Bell fans who showed up at the brand’s Live Más Drive-Thru Cams. Created by Biite, the spot will air during the game’s third quarter and was directed by Dave Meyers (who also recently directed ads for Dunkin’ and Pizza Hut)
The commercial also marks the brand’s return to the Super Bowl, as the last time Taco Bell bought big game airtime was 2022.
