Planet Propaganda Taps Steele As First President In 15 Years

Planet Propaganda has shaken up its management structure.

Emily Steele has been named to the new post of president, having served as managing director since 2020. She will focus on growth and innovation for clients, such as Duluth Trading Company, Weed Man Lawn Care, Johnson Fitness and Wellness and Snap-On Tools.

Steele is the Madison, Wisconsin-based agency's first president in 15 years. She will work with Dana Lytle, the agency founder-CEO, overseeing strategy and content options.

Lytle said Steele “applies the same strategic simplicity and focused execution to Planet that we employ with our clients. She is respected by our employees and has truly embodied and evolved the vision and spirit of the agency I set out to build 35 years ago.”

Steele joined Planet as an account supervisor in 2015 and was later promoted to account director, managing Duluth Trading Company, Jersey Mike's, J-B Weld, Pernod Ricard, Big Lots, EatStreet, Pancheros and Scotts. Before this, she worked at Midwest agencies Shine United, Waldbillig & Besteman and Moosylvania Marketing.

“My goal as president is to push Planet’s positive vision and culture as we continue to evolve our client relationships, employee culture and our agency capabilities,” said Steele. “Our theme going into 2025 is to get comfortable being uncomfortable, and to grow by investing in the organization and individuals.”
