The Ring magazine, the self-proclaimed bible of boxing, is back in print for the first time since late 2022.
Founded by Nat Fleischer in 1922 when Jack Dempsey was heavyweight champion and Warren G. Harding president, the magazine is known for its authoritative boxing ratings and advocacy for the sport.
The new print edition has artwork that would have been unimaginable at its peak under Fleischer.
The periodical is offering a yearly digital subscription for $10, and a print sub for $60 or $10 per issue. Combined membership costs $70, according to The Ring website.
The Ring has had many ups and downs throughout its history. For several years, boxing was in such doldrums that the magazine had to carry a substantial wrestling section.

After Fleischer’s death in 1972, The Ring had to cope with scandals such as cooked-up ratings in its annual encyclopedia in 1977. It also went through several owners, reaching a peak of quality when Stanley Weston, a former office boy for Fleischer who had competed against him with titles like Boxing Illustrated, Wrestling News, featuring snappier writing and layout, acquired it.
The magazine now has Saudi Arabian ownership.
