Super Bowl Metrics: The Eagles Drew Big Increase In Advance Readership

The  Super Bowl drew intense interest online in the days leading up to it, judging by a report from Taboola.  

The winning team, the Eagles, saw a 138% uptick in online readership, while the Chiefs experienced a mere 41% uptick over prior 45 days.  

Are people tired of reading about the Chiefs? Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts received a 95% increase in interest, compared to an 18% decline for the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes.  

At the same time, winning Coach Nick Sirianni saw a 292 increase — handily beating Andy Reid, who received a 132% boost. 

And, among players Saquon Barkley enjoyed a 162% improvement, while Travis Kelce fell by 15%.

Either way, brands have drawn big readership boosts from their commercials:

  • Godaddy — +6,028%
  • Doritos — +2,064%
  • Pringles — +1,442%
  • Budweiser — +423%

Super Bowl logistics have also been a hot topic online, pulling a 415% increase. The Caesars Superdome went even higher, with +2.964. 

And buzz around the halftime show generated a 179% jump in readership, while Kendrick Lamar leaped by 325%.
