Facebook is now paying content creators across the globe based on how many views they receive on content posted to their public stories – a new monetization option via the Facebook Content Monetization program.
“You can earn money from content you're already producing and sharing if you post it to your Facebook Stories,” says food creator Keto Snackz in a Facebook-sponsored video.
For example, if a creator is already planning to post a specific recipe video or Reel to the platform, they can share part of it with their audience on their story and earn more money based on how many users view the story post.
According to Facebook, story payouts are driven by the performance of content, allowing a wider array of creators to begin earning money without having to reach a necessary threshold for views.
To turn on content monetization to activate story monetization, content creators must already be part of the Facebook Monetization program, which Facebook launched last year to merge In-stream ads, Ads on Reels, and Performance Bonus programs.
