Chipotle’s latest sports star partnership gives fans the chance to take their burritos (or whatever they want) to go in designer style.
While the chain’s iconic recycled brown bags have appeared in many an Insta post, for a more luxe version, the burrito behemoth got together with New York Knicks players Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart to collaborate on a pair of new designer to-go bags. The bags were created by designer and brand Cho, and crafted with details customized to the needs of a Chipotle-loving athlete.
“Over the past few years, we’ve seen many professional athletes photographed with our Chipotle takeout bag boarding a team bus or a plane,” Chipotle’s vice president of brand marketing, Stephanie Perdue, told Marketing Daily. “Inspired by this trend, we wanted to collaborate with Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart to create fashionable and functional versions of our iconic takeout bag that are fully customized based on each player’s unique fan insights. This launch is part of our Real Food for Real Athletes platform that focuses on supporting athletes across all levels by providing proper nutrition through real food and fresh ingredients.”

The two bags differ in design per the individual athlete’s preferences. Bridges’ bag has a silver foil insulation lining and a zipper flap closure and includes a tray with compartments underneath the flap, as well as a fork and napkin holder. A large, embossed Chipotle logo is printed on the outside. Hart’s bag is made up of two detachable layers, with the top space to store personal belongings and the second layer, also with a silver foil lining, for a Chipotle entrée and also a fork and napkin holder.
Consumers who post on the brand’s Instagram site until April 16 and tag a friend will be entered into a sweepstakes drawing to win one of only two bags available to the public.
Both Bridges and Hart have proclaimed their love for Chipotle in various ways. From touting the specialness of the black plastic Chipotle fork on X to boasting in interviews to eating Chipotle every day since 2013, the duo even took a lie detector test to determine who was the biggest Chipotle fan (they both are).
Each NBA player is also a Chipotle Celebrity Card holder, which are “primarily gifted to brand superfans who are athletes, artists, musicians, or influencers” and entitles the cardholder to free Chipotle items.
