Netflix’s “His & Hers”
mystery thriller starring Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal -- an adaptation of the Alice Feeney novel by director William Oldroyd (“Lady Macbeth,” “Eileen”) -- premiered Jan. 8.
The streaming service teamed up with Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Kitchen, the celebrity’s California-based delivery-first restaurant chain, to develop a menu item inspired by the new
series.
Goop Kitchen’s “Hot Bianca” (a form of white pizza) is a gluten-free pie that “mirrors the show’s layered mystery,” with shaved broccolini, turkey
sausage, red onions, and fontina and mozzarella cheese “concealing” a layer of Goop Kitchen’s “secret sauce” underneath, and “topped with a closely guarded
seasoning blend,” according to a press release.

Goop Kitchen is promoting the “His & Hers” collaboration across its social channels, including an Instagram video that’s also featured on the brand’s website.
The
collaboration continues Netflix’s partnership with Paltrow’s Goop wellness and lifestyle brand, which dates back to 2019. Netflix’s relationship with Goop and Paltrow has been a
controversial one for the streaming service, although its latest collaboration is unlikely to spark the same kind of backlash as its previous Goop partnerships.
News of Netflix’s
partnership with Paltrow and then-upcoming “The Goop Lab” docuseries led to criticism in The Guardian and NBC News calling the partnership “a win for
pseudoscience.” Paltrow’s company faced repeated accusations of marketing products based on medical misinformation in the years leading up to the partnership. In 2018, the company
reached a settlement in a complaint filed by the group Truth In Advertising in California related to “deceptive” health claims made in promoting 51 of its products
Netflix
announced a renewal of “The Goop Lab” for a second season following its first season in 2020, but it has yet to be released. Paltrow told People in 2024, "We're still working
on ideas." Netflix did partner with Paltrow on a separate 2021 “Sex, Love & Goop” series focused on sex therapy.
The Goop Kitchen collaborative promotional release follows a
slew of Netflix brand collaborations for the final season of
“Stranger Things.”
