Stagwell Hires OMD's Chan To Lead APAC Growth

Stagwell has hired OMD’s Connie Chan as chief growth officer, Asia Pacific, effective in July. The role is new and Chan will report to Ryan Linder, EVP, global chief marketing officer.

Given Stagwell's growth prioritization for the region, Chan will be responsible for leading its growth strategy and operations across APAC markets, with a focus on accelerating transformation, scaling integrated capabilities, and deepening relationships in local markets.

Chan joins from Omnicom’s OMD where she was CEO China since 2020. Earlier she led WPP’s government and public sector practice based in Singapore, where she will be based in her new role.

Stagwell now has 2,500 employees in the APAC region in 34 offices across China, Australia, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

The company's most recent M&A deal in the region was the purchase in January of marketing agency ADK Global, based in Japan with 10 overseas offices.

Stagwell’s APAC clients include LG, Shanghai Disney Resort, Google, Dexcom and Adidas.

Randy Duax, Stagwell's managing director, Asia Pacific, said, "We've spent the last three years building the kind of platform the holding companies said couldn't be done—media, creative, strategy and PR moving as one, built for speed, wired for scale. Connie isn't here to learn the playbook. She's here to call the next play."
