From College Startup to 800+ Stores: Jamba's Still Blending Things Up

Founded in 1990 in a California college town, this brand has grown from a humble juice shop into a national powerhouse with over 800 locations. Can you guess what it was called before becoming Jamba?

  • Brand Legacy: Founded June 1990 in the seaside town of San Luis Obispo (SLO), CA as the Juice Club by a group of college grads

  • Brand Evolution: Jamba became Jamba Juice in 1995 as the brand grew in popularity and expanded its smoothie offerings. In 2017, it joined GoTo Foods LLC (formerly Focus Brands), alongside other iconic names like Cinnabon, Auntie Anne’s, Carvel, Moe’s, Schlotzsky’s, and McAlister’s Deli. In 2019, the brand dropped “Juice” and returned to simply Jamba to better reflect its full menu of smoothies, bowls, and snacks, now served at 800+ locations across 36 states.

  • Jamba Boosts Your Brightest Self: Their refreshing blends of fruit and veggies in made-to-order smoothies, juices and bowls give guests the boost they need to conquer their days and fuel their next adventure.

  • Retail Expansion: Since 2018, Jamba has grown into retail and DTC channels via licensing partnerships with the goal of increasing accessibility and brand awareness outside traditional stores.
