A layoff has hit 15 Spotify staffers working for The Ringer and Spotify Studios.
The cuts affected 5% of the employees in those units.
However, Spotify expects to add jobs to bolster its video content.
No podcasts were cancelled as a result of the layoff, Variety reports.
Among those losing their jobs were, audio producer Jonathan Kermah and writer Claire McNear announced they were part of the layoffs, Variety adds.
“[T]ime for an unfortunate media rite of passage: after 9 years at The Ringer, I was laid off this week,” McNear wrote on X. “I’m gutted to leave, but grateful for my time there, the many wonderful folks I worked with over the years, and all the stories I got to tell.”
