This tantalizing post on X from AI pundit Tibor Blaho may signal a new era in inbox management:
“ChatGPT web app – another new announcement: ‘Connect Gmail and Google Calendar’ (‘Use ChatGPT to analyze emails, manage your schedule and stay organized.’
“Try it out” prompt: ‘What’s my schedule today?’”
What’s it mean?
According to Bleeping Computer, Gmail and ChatGPT are now testing a new form of integration. When rolled out, account holders will be able to use ChatGPT to analyze email, create responses and organize schedules, Bleeping Computer writes.
A formal announcement will soon be forthcoming, it adds.
Gmail and ChatGPT already have a form of an integration — tied to Deep Research.

It’s not yet clear what this could mean to marketers, but it’s not necessarily good news. Hypothetically, a consumer could type the prompt “Get rid of spam,” and eliminate all marketing emails.
Of course, you may not need ChatGPT for this.
In a recent talk at the SXSW London festival, Demis Hassabis, the head of Google DeepMind, said his team is working on a way to relieve “the tyranny of the email inbox,” the Guardian writes.
“The thing I really want – and we’re working on – is can we have a next-generation email. I would love to
get rid of my email. I would pay thousands of dollars per month to get rid of that,” Hassabis said, according to the Guardian.
Hassabis clarified that he wants “something that would just understand what are the bread-and-butter emails, and answer in your style – and maybe make some of the easier decisions,” the Guardian adds.
