BetMGM turned to Jon Hamm for a “Make It Legendary “campaign that the brand is calling a repositioning effort.
The Emmy Award-winning actor of “Mad Men” fame stars in a
series of ads directed by Noam Murro (“Watership Down,” “300: Rise of an Empire”). The “Make It Legendary “ campaign was created in collaboration with Chicago-based
independent creative agency Highdive.
“Make It Legendary” is scheduled to make its debut during college
football programming on Aug. 30 with a 30-second spot. “Legendary Photo” tells the story of a group that uses the BetMGM app to involve an unfriendly set of barmates in a fun competition.
It's the first of six ads starring Hamm in the campaign, which will run across TV, social media, digital, OOH, and at BetMGM properties across the country.

In a statement, BetMGM CMO Casey
Hurbis said that Hamm’s “talent and universal appeal” made him “a natural fit to represent the refined essence of our brand.“
“Make It Legendary”
comes on the heels of a disadvantageous ruling for BetMGM by the Michigan Supreme Court over alleged unpaid winnings of $3 million-plus.
According to reporting by CBS, while a circuit court
ruling upheld the state gaming board’s decision not to pursue disciplinary action against the company, the plaintiff still has the right to seek damages against the gambling company through
Wayne Circuit Court.
