'The Guardian' Reports Worldwide Revenue Hike

The Guardian Media Group generated revenue of £275.9 million (an estimated $375 million) during its 2024/25 fiscal year, with 72% of it digital revenue and 38% revenue from outside the U.K. 

Revenue grew by £18.1 million ($2.4 million) over 2023-24.  

The U.S. and Canada market contributed £56 million ($74.9 million), up from £45 million ($61 million) in 2023/24. 

“In the financial year of 24/25, cash outflow was £24 million," writes Ole Jacob Sunde, chairman of The Scott Trust, the sole shareholder of Guardian Media Group. “We recognize that this is still a substantial number, however, much of the expenditure reflects deliberate investment in editorial capabilities and technology."  

The Guardian has 430,000 “supporters” in the U.S. and Canada, compared to 529,000 in the U.K., 182,000 in Europe, 158,000 in Australia and New Zealand and 31,000 in the rest of the world.
