Banshee Wines, Avril Lavigne Launch 'Complicated' Pinot Noir

Avril Lavigne, a pop-punk icon from the 2000s, is lending the name of one of her most popular songs of the decade to a new wine.

Lavigne has teamed up with Banshee Wines to release her first wine. “Complicated,” a limited-edition small batch pinot noir. The name pays tribute to her 2002 single of the same name and comes on the heels of her recent North American Greatest Hits Tour.

The pinot noir is described by the brand as “layered with bright notes of cherry and raspberry, crafted to embody the confidence, complexity, and creativity that define both Avril and Banshee.” Customers can purchase Complicated for $30 per bottle on Banshee’s website at www.bansheewines.com. It is also available for tasting and purchase at the Banshee tasting room.

"The Complicated collaboration fuses Avril's unmistakable artistry and rock 'n' roll spirit with our winemaking, giving fans a new way to connect with her music," says Jason Daniel, CMO of Foley Family Wines & Spirits.

A limited edition run of 50 "Sip and Spin" kits can be added to the wine purchase, which includes a record player and Lavigne’s “Let Go” album on vinyl, which of course contains the single “Complicated.”

“Over the last two years on tour, I was rocking out with the Banshee bar set up backstage every night, … so teaming up on our own wine just felt right,” says Lavigne. “Life can be complicated, but a good glass of wine doesn't have to be."

Banshee has also pledged to make a $10,000 donation to benefit songwriting camps for She Is The Music, an organization dedicated to creating more opportunities for women in the music industry.

Banshee Wines launched in 2009 in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco, and is now based out of Healdsburg, California.
