Google created a new commercial for
the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro with a “vanilla” theme, but artificial intelligence (AI) features in the phone are anything but ordinary.
The company began the week pushing people
out of their comfort zone with an AI-powered smartphone -- Pixel 10 with Gemini, a multimodal AI model developed by Google.
The commercial follows a group of people as they navigate through a
typical day, but their phones are depicted as swirling vanilla ice cream cones that represent the blandness of most mobile experiences.
The final scene shows a woman using Gemini Live
visual guidance to help her choose flowers, demonstrating a practical, AI-powered feature uniquely optimized for the Pixel phone.
Adrienne Lofton, senior vice president of global
marketing at Google, acknowledges that switching phones is an emotional decision, and we know the anxiety of learning a new device often leads people to settle for the status quo.

“Our
new campaign 'Ask More of Your Phone' puts a flag in the ground to declare that Google Pixel is the new standard in today’s AI era,” Lofton said.
With AI enabled for Pixel —
like Gemini’s Nano Banana, an AI image-generation and editing tool built in the Gemini app -- Google encourages consumers to “get outside their comfort phone and experience a
different type of intelligence."
The phones were introduced last month at Made by Google. The new lineup is powered by the Tensor G5 chip, which allows the Google AI models to run
on-device AI features with improved video and photo quality.
The Made by Google event hosted by Jimmy Fallon featured influencers like Stephen Curry, Alex Cooper, and Cody Rigsby. They helped
introduce the Google phone’s latest products and features.
The commercial was created by Google’s creative teams and will run across broadcast, social and digital in the U.K.,
France, Germany, Australia, Japan, and Canada. In the U.S., the commercial will launch on digital and social first before extending to other channels.
