Condé Nast is banning images of fur in both
editorial and advertising content, according to published reports.
That means there will be no fur coats in the pages of the fashion magazine Vogue or in Condé
Nast’s other publications including Vanity Fair, the New Yorker andGQ.
The Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade has conducted over 100 protests
over several months.
The only exception to this rule will be “byproducts of subsistence and indigenous practices.”
Condé Nast reportedly said that it has
limited the use of new animal fur for years.
This follows a steady decline in the fur business in New York City, and a general change in the culture.
