Holidays Mean Clydesdales For Budweiser

The Budweiser Clydesdales are back, along with merch and a new TV spot and cans, for the holidays.

The brand released its annual limited-edition holiday cans earlier in the season. These depict the Budweiser Clydesdales hitched and ready to complete a beer delivery, set against a snowy winter background.

The Clydesdales then star in their own spot, seen here, which runs online and in select markets nationwide. In the :15 ad, the horses are seen on their way to a delivery, with a voiceover stating, “Since 1876, the best holiday gifts always come in special wrapping.” The spot then reveals the holiday cans.

“The Clydesdales have always symbolized what Budweiser stands for — tradition, heritage and bringing people together,” says Todd Allen, senior vice president of marketing for Budweiser at Anheuser-Busch. “This year’s campaign continues that legacy, blending nostalgia with new ways for fans to connect with the brand during the most wonderful time of the year.”

The brand first started manufacturing a yearly collectible stein in 1980. Some older, rarer versions now sell for over $200 on eBay.
