Sanpellegrino Expands Ciao! Line With Limoncello Launch

Sanpellegrino is introducing the first addition to the line of flavored sparkling waters it launched last year, with a new variety doubling as a non-alcoholic alternative to a flavor that’s a traditional part of Italian drinking culture.

The Nestlé-owned brand announced the launch of a its Limoncello flavor, inspired by the traditional lemon liqueur predominant in Southern Italy created using lemon zest.

A news release promoting the launch describes the flavor as “a bright, citrusy sip of Italian sunshine,” which takes inspiration from “Italy’s citrus tradition” and “brings a refreshingly crisp twist to a classic lemon flavor, with real fruit juice, natural flavors, and a pinch of Sicilian salt for that perfect elevated finish.” Limoncello contains just five calories per can.

The flavor launches on Amazon this month, strategically timed for Dry January, ahead of a wider national retail rollout in February.

The brand positioned the new flavor as ideal across seasons, from “ a sparkling option to celebrate the New Year” to “refreshing uplift during warmer months.”

Sanpellegrino is initially promoting the launch on its owned social media channels, but said it has plans for a larger campaign later this year. The new release marks the first flavor expansion of the Ciao! line since its launch last February.
