After teasing indented replies on the Threads mobile app, the head of Meta’s Twitter-like social platform Connor Hayes highlighted an updated layout of Threads’ website, along with enhanced functionality, which Hayes states will be a point of focus in
the platform’s evolution.
“Web is an important part of how our most engaged users interact with Threads,” Hayes wrote in a post on Thursday that showcased the website’s
new look, as well as the addition of direct messages, a feature that will roll out to web users in the coming weeks.
Overall, Threads’ upcoming web layout is more detailed than its
current appearance, with written labels under the left-side navigation options, including the For You feed, the New thread composition tab, Search, Notifications, and Profile.
Notably, the new
layout also includes additional shortcuts, such as Saved posts, performance Insights, and Messages, all of which share the same icons as their Instagram counterparts.

Once this Threads’
website makeover rolls out, users will also have an easier time switching between different feeds due to a comprehensive list at the bottom of the left-hand navigation bar.
The Threads inbox
was technically added to the app in June 2025, but has been in testing in only a few regions, remaining absent in the platform’s web presence.
Hayes didn’t mention when the
renovated web layout will begin rolling out to users, but the update marks a heightened prioritization of the youngest Meta-owned social app.
“We’ll be investing more here going
forward,” Hayes added.
