Stagwell’s Code and Theory has announced that JJ Schmuckler has been appointed President. The role has been vacant since Michael Treff was elevated to CEO in 2022.  

Schmuckler has spent most of his career at WPP, culminating in the role of Global Chief Growth Officer at VML.   

He most recently served as the Group President and Chief Revenue Officer at Real Chemistry.   

As President, the company said he will help propel the agency’s next phase of growth by sharpening its go-to-market strategy, a strategy that focuses on connecting platforms, data, technology and creative into a coherent system, not a series of one-off campaigns.   

Treff stated that Schmuckler “understands the ever-changing landscape and knows how to build the kind of partner relationship that turns complexity into momentum.”
