Meta and other social media firms will pay $27 million to settle a lawsuit filed by Kentucky’s Breathitt County School District over alleged harms to children’s mental health
caused by social media addiction, Reuters reports. Meta will pay the most — at $9 million. YouTube will pay $2.01 million, and Snap and TikTok will each pay $8 million to settle the
case.
