Tropical Smoothie Café is commemorating the U.S.’s
250birthday and Americans’ love of hot dogs by heading to the ballpark with its own kind of “dog.”
The brand is rolling out its first Smoothie Dog made to
beat the summer heat: a hot-dog-shaped popsicle inspired by the Bahama Mama Smoothie and topped with ketchup (strawberry syrup), mustard (pineapple syrup) and relish (muddled kiwi).
The
Smoothie Dog will make its first limited appearance at the Loco Beach Coconuts pre-game at VyStar Ballpark in Jacksonville, Florida, today through July 3. As Tropical Smoothie Café is the
Official Smoothie Partner of the Loco Beach Coconuts Banana Ball team, the brand will host the first Smoothie Dog Eating Contest with the team during its game against the Indianapolis Clowns, where
the player who can eat the most Smoothie Dogs in the allotted time will receive free smoothies for a year.

The brand will also sponsor giveaways at the games, including a limited number drop
of co-branded leis with unique promo codes, which gives fans a chance at also winning free smoothies for a year.
“At its core, Banana Ball is all about entertaining fans and bringing
families together, and that spirit really resonates with us at Tropical Smoothie Cafe,” said Deborah von Kutzleben, CMO of Tropical Smoothie Café. “As part of our partnership with
the Loco Beach Coconuts this season, we introduced Smoothie Dogs as our way of stepping up to the plate and bringing a little more fun, flavor and feel-good energy to game day.”
Tropical
Smoothie Café also has a new limited edition Banana Ball-themed flavor, the Loco Beach Colada Smoothie, which will only be available in-app and online through Oct. 6. New co-branded merchandise
is slated to drop this summer, along with select player in-store appearances and beach-inspired fan experiences.
