TikTok has agreed to settle three lawsuits filed by young people who allege that social-media platforms are designed to be addictive and harm their mental health, Reuters reports. These cases are
among thousands of lawsuits that were consolidated in a California state court. The lawsuits against Meta Platforms, Google, YouTube and Snap will continue, with a trial scheduled to start in October.
The companies have denied the allegations.
