E.W. Scripps Reduces Staff, Shifts To A 24/7 Streaming Model

The E.W. Scripps Company is cutting 268 positions while it pursues a 24/7 streaming model, TVNewsCheck reports. Adam Symson, president and CEO, announced the news in a memo to the staff on Tuesday. The firm is moving from traditional broadcast schedule as part of the “refounding” initiative announced earlier this year. “These decisions are being made in service to a mission that is too important to let fade because we weren’t willing to do the hard work of evolving,” Symson said in the memo.
