Media Represents Nearly Half WPP Revenue

Media now accounts for nearly half of WPP's revenue, according to financial data in its just-released first half earnings report.

WPP Media accounted for 46% of WPP's total revenue in the second quarter of 2026, less pass-through costs, according to the release. It appears to be the first time the agency holding company has delineated its media operations share of revenue that way, so it's unclear how it compares with the prior year or previous years.

Creative, which includes WPP's recently minted "Enterprise Solutions" practice (which represents 13% of the creative division), accounted for 49% of holding company revenue, while production represented 5%.

While net sales for WPP Media fell 2.8% year-over-year in the second quarter that represents an improvement from the first quarter, which was down 8.3% year-over-year.

While agency holding companies delineate and account for revenue from media operations differently, an analysis of publicly released historical data by ChatGPT estimates WPP would rank fourth behind Publicis, Dentsu and Omnicom -- and ahead of Havas and Stagwell -- in terms of media's contribution to their totals. Those estimates have not been manually fact-checked by MediaPost at presstime.
