President Trump finally got his name on
something really big.
A TV network. Say hello to Trump TV.
Well, maybe not quite a traditional network. What about viewers -- and maybe advertisers? Not so much.
Perhaps there
was little surprise here that the start of this 24/7 livestream channel on YouTube started just after
Trump posted that he was banning CNN, MS Now, and Politico from the White House.
But could there be more to come? Perhaps Fox News Channel, Newsmax, and all the rest.
Trump TV actually
started up with a video o his July 3rd speech at Mount Rushmore, in which he called his political rivals “godless” and “evil.” communists.”
Fact-check,
anyone?
But maybe we heard it wrong. We apologize. He may have whispered his rivals were “gold-less’ -- thus emphasizing his long-time desire for gold-plated trim on proposed
arches, ballrooms, and perhaps on the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts that he wants to rename.

Touting some marketing spin in YouTube for "Trump TV: The Essentials Station" is this
marketing blurb:
“Watch the Trump Administration’s biggest moments all in one place.” It adds: “Top videos, major remarks, and must-see highlights streaming 24/7 and
updated in real time. Stay informed and stay up to date!”
Can you believe some experts in the field disparaging this as "State-run News"’?
To be sure, there wasn’t
much in the way of paid advertising. We’ll wait for possible commercial messaging coming -- maybe for pillows from Mike Lindell. There could also also be marketing for Trump-investment owned
cryptocurrency platforms.
Right after the messaging breaks are a launch Trump TV trailer and other Trump-themed advertising.
On “Fox News Sunday”, Weijia Jiang, CBS
News’ senior White House correspondent (and former White House Correspondents’ Association president), said: “An America cannot have state TV."
She added: “That’s
what makes America America… because you need independent actors to be able to be the observers. And if the government is only showing you what it wants, then you have to ask: What are we
missing?”
I’m thinking the only thing we are missing is another season of “The Apprentice,” in which Trump again sits at the head of the table, firing even more people.
No worries. This promises to be entertaining, we guess.
As on September 23, there were 3.28 million subscribers for Trump TV on YouTube. Midday viewing of a live Trump press conference in the
White House on that day showed a microscopic 1,247 viewers.
So is it a hit -- or a miss? We’ll wait for the Nielsen ratings to come in.
After all, we are still just looking for
the essentials.
