Those Little Free Libraries scattered around
America’s neighborhoods may soon be donning very recognizable red roofs.
Pizza Hut continues its nostalgia play with the introduction of Little Hut Libraries, a collaboration with the
nonprofit Little Free Library, which is responsible for the global network of volunteer-led book-sharing boxes.
Launched to commemorate both National Book Month and National Pizza Month this
October, the Little Hut Libraries are an expansion of the brand’s Book It! Program, which rewards young readers with free pizza.
Consumers can apply here to get a limited-edition Little Hut Library in their neighborhood, which are designed to
look like miniature Pizza Hut restaurants complete with red roofs, and come stocked with both books and a limited number of Personal Pan Pizza gift cards.

“Pizza Hut has always been
about more than pizza; it's about the memories and moments that happen around it,” said Melissa Friebe, CMO at Pizza Hut U.S., in a release. “Little Hut Libraries bring our shared passion
for reading to life in a uniquely Pizza Hut way, putting more books into communities, all under our beloved red roof.”
Designed for kids from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade, the
Book It! reading program, launched in 1984, helps kids build reading habits by rewarding them with a personal pan pizza for reaching their monthly target. Each year the program reaches approximately
14 million students, with more than 70 million participants since the program’s inception.
There are currently more than 200,000 registered Little Free Libraries worldwide,
including in all 50 states. To date, over 500 million books have been shared through the program.
