They call the Webby Awards the Oscars of the Internet. So what's the One Show Interactive considered? Well, it's probably considered one of the most prestigious creative competitions for interactive
creative professionals. The only other elite competition we can point to is the Cannes Advertising Festival's Cyber Lions.
On May 12, at the One Show Interactive awards, agencies were honored
for the best work in new media, including Web sites, banners, brand gaming, viral, and integrated branding.
The "Best in Show" honors went to Crispin Porter + Bogusky for its commercial spot
"Counterfeit Integrated" on behalf of Mini. The work mocked fake Prada bags and Nike sneakers sold at sidewalk markets. The Mini Counterfeit campaign is a hilarious sendup of the black market trend
via Crispin's creation of the CCC, the Counter Counterfeit Commission. Dedicated to stopping the spread of fake Mini Coopers, the watchdog group's efforts included a 10-minute DVD advertised on
national television, a brochure comparing real and fake Minis, alert messages in automotive classified publications (conveniently placed immediately after ads for counterfeit Minis), and a grassroots
street team effort at the New York Auto Show. The site counterfeitmini.org served as a resource for consumers to tip off the CCC on suspected fake Minis.
In fact, Crispin took the most
awards at the One Show Interactive--a total of 9 Pencils. Goodby, Silverstein & Partners was awarded 5 Pencils. The top client winners included Mini, Nike, Ikea, Sony's PlayStation, Adidas, Altoids,
and Microsoft's Xbox.
Forsman Brothers scored 2 Pencils, while DDB Brasil also earned 2 Pencils.
The One Show Interactive is one of three annual awards competitions organized by The
One Club, a nonprofit organization that recognizes and promotes excellence in advertising. The One Club produces One Show, One Show Design, and One Show Interactive.
