If President Bush gets his way, the Federal Communications Commission will get $313 million, some earmarked for helping consumers with the digital TV transfer scheduled to take place in early 2009.
That's one of the line items in the 2008 budget request, which also asks for beefed-up efforts agaist fraud, expanding broadband service and promoting media diversity. Also, the prez hopes the monies
will be used to modernize the agency.
