Just An Online Minute... 212 Launch Party

  • by January 21, 2004
Yesterday, in my inaugural online minute, it just so happens that my name got lopped off. Thankfully, my first name was in the subject line and well, there aren't that many people named Tobi, right?

Warm Up
Tomorrow night, 212, a new media group positioning itself as an interactive advertising club for New York-area online media professionals, is throwing a launch party. With online media's star on the rise, a group of interactive ad sales and media agency folks decided to create a forum for professional and social networking. Organizers say the group is much-needed, particularly after the dotcom meltdown left a professional, not to mention social vacuum in its wake. For its membership, 212 is targeting entry- and mid-level media professionals who toil at agencies, Web publishers, marketers, and other venues. Panel discussions on topical media issues, career development, and "Meet the Marketers" sessions are planned this year.

Brian Quinn, CBS MarketWatch's VP-Eastern region ad sales, serves as president of 212's board of directors (MDN, Jan. 14). Other board members include: Mark Westlake, VP-Sales, About.com; Amy Auerbach, Media Director, Circle EuroRSCG; and David Cohen, Senior-VP, Universal McCann. Annual membership is free for agency and corporate professionals, $50 for ad salespeople.

So warm yourself up: 212's kickoff party is tomorrow night. For more information and to register, click here.
