Fox Can 'Dance,' Other Nets Are Wallflowers

Fox continues to own the early-round summer spotlight.

The second week of its 3-year-old reality competition show, "So You Think You Can Dance," has moved up to a 4.1 rating/12 share among 18-49 viewers on Wednesday. That's up from its 3.7 the week before. Plus, the show improved versus the same date of a year ago.

Other new summer shows didn't fare as well.

ABC's "The Next Big Thing: Who is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator?" was the best of the rest. At 8 p.m. it earned a 2.5/8. The network's 10 p.m. show "Traveler" grabbed a 2.1/6.

The CW's new teen-angst drama "Hidden Palms" earned a 0.6/2 at 8 p.m. Fox easily took the night with a 4.1/12. CBS, with its all-repeat formula, posted a 2.4/7. Its highlight--a repeat of "CSI: NY," which won the 10 p.m. time period with a 3.0/8 over NBC's "Medium" at 1.5/4 and ABC's "Traveler" with 2.1/6.

At 9 p.m., Fox led the way with "Dance." Reruns from CBS' "Criminal Minds" at 2.5/7, NBC's "Most Outrageous Moments" at 2.4/7 and "Traveler" at 1.5/4 were the also-rans. CW aired an original of "One Tree Hill," which recorded a 0.9/3.

For the night, ABC came in third at 2.0/6; NBC fourth at 1.9/6; CW fifth at 0.9/3; and MyNetworkTV sixth, at 0.5/2.
