LinkedIn Corporation, a professional network, has named Patrick Crane vice president of marketing.

Most recently, Crane was vice president/marketing for the Yahoo Inc. Network Division. He was responsible for taking Yahoo Answers to market in 2005 and for marketing the product to its position today as the #1 Q&A site on the Web. He also led the marketing of Yahoo Mail, helping it become the world's #1 Web mail provider in 2006 as measured by comScore.
