Consumers To Spend $525 Billion At Self-Service Kiosks

  • July 18, 2007
A new survey from IHL Consulting Group estimates that U.S. consumers will spend $525 billion this year at self-service kiosks, including self-checkout lanes, ticketing kiosks and other self-service machines.

That represents an increase from $438 billion in 2006.

The company predicts spending will increase an additional 18% in 2008, and reach $1.3 trillion by 2011. The survey is based on spending at self-checkout systems, ticketing kiosks, check-in kiosks, food ordering, and postal kiosks.
