Media General Sees Revs Drop In 2Q

Media General company revenues in 2Q totaled $241.2 million--an increase of 4.8%, including the four new NBC stations acquired on June 26, 2006. Excluding the new stations, total revenues decreased 5.7%. Total publishing revenues decreased 9.6%, and newspaper advertising revenues were down 11% from 2006. Classified advertising revenues decreased $9.6 million, or 16.7%--and broadcast profits for the quarter dropped 2%, including the new NBC stations; a 22.5% decrease without. Same-station total revenues decreased by 2.1%.
