NBC Universal said Wednesday that the general manager of Telemundo's O&O in Miami will become the national sales head for the network and move to New York.

Mike Rodriguez, vice president and GM for WSCV, becomes senior vice president of sales, replacing Steve Mandala, who now heads all cable sales for NBCU. He will report to Mike Pilot, NBCU president of sales and marketing.

Rodriguez will oversee sales for the network, cable outlet mun2 and related Web and other properties.

Pilot said that NBCU is looking to "further our efforts to connect our clients closer to our product, ensuring their messages resonate in today's multiplatform media environment."

Rodriguez has been at WSCV since 2002; he previously worked in local sales for the CBS station in Miami.
