Verizon Wireless and the National Hockey League have teamed up to offer NHL video alerts, providing mobile highlights immediately after they happen.
The 15-second clips, sent to
subscribers after each game period, will feature goals, key saves and other critical plays. Hockey fans can get up to four alerts each night.
Verizon is charging $2.99 a month per franchise for
what it says is the first mobile service of its kind for any professional sports league.
