Mama nature sighed in relief when the Association of Travel Marketing Executives axed the print edition of its twice-yearly publication, Travel Marketing Decisions, which had gone out to 750 members and several hundred industry execs. They’ve opted instead for online PDF and direct e-mail versions. The release began, “As part of an organization-wide green initiative,” explaining the eco-sense behind the decision. (Sounds suspiciously like when Teen People “went green.”) Considering that the travel industry itself is recognized as a leading contributor to climate change, Mother Earth might not want to pop the cork on the bubbly just yet.
