Sports Delivers NBC's Sunday Best

Two days before Christmas, football was on the minds of viewers who tuned in to Sunday TV.

NBC posted a solid Nielsen 4.3 ratings/13 share among 18-49 viewers for a game featuring the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings. The network won the night with a 3.7/11.

CBS also scored with football, getting a nice 5.0/17 overrun in the early part of the evening to push up "60 Minutes," which nicely featured a segment on New England Patriots star quarterback, Tom Brady. "60 Minutes" came in with a 3.3/11. "The Amazing Race" chimed in with healthy numbers as well, to post CBS to second place at 2.5/7 for the night.

ABC earned a 2.7/8 for the theatrical "Santa Clause 2" movie--which was the network's highlight of the evening. Its reality-game "Duel" continued to be less threatening, only reaching a 1.6/5. For the night, ABC landed with a 2.1/6.

Fox could only muster a 1.7/5 for Sunday night, thanks to a "Simpsons" repeat and the theatrical movie "Spider-Man 2." The CW took a 0.4/1, from "Aliens in America" repeat, "The Story of Santa Claus" and a "Crowned" rerun.
