DeWayne A. Nelon has been named the new CEO at Avot Media. /p>

Nelon succeeds acting CEO Atam Lalchandani, who will continue his role as the Sunnyvale, Calif.-mobile video search and deployment firm's CFO and chairman of the board.

Nelon comes to Avot Media with more than 20 years of telecom experience--most recently serving as president and CEO of Ortiva Wireless, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) startup serving the mobile multimedia industry. While at Ortiva, Nelon successfully raised some $15 million in Series B funding for the company, an achievement that Lalchandani said made him the right candidate to lead Avot Media.

"He thoroughly understands how to run a multimillion-dollar business, but he also knows how to raise capital and revenues in order to grow Avot Media into a multimillion-dollar business," Lalchandani said.
