Nothing Says 'I Love You' Like Anti-Virus Software

  • February 13, 2008
For Valentine's Day, nothing says "I love you" like a bouquet of flowers...and free anti-virus software.

That's the hope of a geek-oriented promotion involving e-payments provider TrialPay, FTD.com and Cnet's Download.com offering free software with every order of flowers. Visitors also get 10% off flower buys on FTD.com and get to choose from a dozen popular software titles from the likes of McAfee, AVG, PC Tools, Webroot and WinZip on Download.com.

TrialPay uses the ad revenues from FTD.com to pay Download.com for the software while taking a cut for itself. A search on Digg.com turned up at least one satisfied customer. "Cool...Got Ad Aware free while sending flowers to my in-laws," wrote poster AntoineDigg. The promotion runs through Feb. 15.
