NBCU Buys Skycastle, Integrated Marketing Follows

NBC Universal's Local Media has acquired marketing and promotional company Skycastle Entertainment.

Skycastle will be in charge of developing an integrated marketing campaign for the group's local advertising partners. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. John Wallace, president, NBC Local Media, said Skycastle will serve the increasing needs of local advertising clients to create more integrated and custom-marketing campaigns.

Skycastle was formed by former NBC employees Joseph Candido and David Warshawsky, who will continue with the company, reporting to Larry Wert, president and general manager of WMAQ Chicago, an NBC-owned station.

Last month, the NBC division, which encompasses NBC's 10 TV local stations and other local media platforms, acquired LX.TV, a content production company that produces lifestyle and cultural programming for NBC stations.
